✕Round 70’s inspired sunglasses made from 100% recycled fishing nets. The recycled fishing nets come from Spain (approximately 15 grams recycled fishing net/frame). Old and abandoned fishing nets (ghost nets) are collected and cleaned to then be fully recyclable via molecular recycling. With this recycled material, the sunglasses can be recycled all over again without ever losing their quality.
This product is part of the process that helps clean up the world’s oceans. Each year, 600 000 metric tons of fishing nets end up in the world’s oceans, trapping dolphins, seals, and smaller fish. These abandoned nets drift with the strong currents and scrape the bottom surface, destroying the coral reefs that are essential to the survival and health of both the world’s oceans and human beings.
A co-creation happens. Mini Rodini is born and raised with the vision to make clothes that children love to wear, without compromising with environmental or social aspects of the production. Yuma Labs has the same vision on sustainability and wants to make fashionable eyewear, without costing the planet.
These two visions combined resulted in a wonderful collaboration. Together we created these ecological and unique sunglasses made out of 100% fishing nets for their new spring collection of 2022.
The most sustainable sunglasses are those that you use as long as possible. We use recycled plastic to create fully removable frames that can be disassembled and recycled at the end of their life. Once the sunglasses have served its purpose, pass them along to someone else or simply send them back to Yuma Labs to recycle and help the circular economy.
If you decide to part ways with your sunglasses, return them to us and we will recycle them for you.
